Taos Auction Co. offers the following bidding methods.

Bid by Phone

Bid by telephone with a Taos Auction Co. representative, who is present at the auction to relay bids to the auctioneer on your behalf.

A representative will call you 5-7 lots in advance and will bid live on your behalf. As the bidding proceeds, your representative will tell you the required amount to bid to stay in the running. You only need to answer “yes” or “no.”

The number of lots sold per hour can vary, but plan to be at your phone ½ hour before the estimated time your lot will be sold. Please understand we cannot be held responsible if you cannot be reached due to caller blocking, incorrect phone numbers, the line is busy or if you do not answer.

Absentee Bidding

A method of bidding for those who cannot or do not wish to attend an auction in person. The bidder submits their maximum bid for a specific object in advance of the auction. The auctioneer will bid on behalf of the absentee bidder against other bids, starting at the lowest possible selling price, and continuing in the defined increments, up to the bidder’s maximum bid for that specific object.

Absentee bids are recorded with the time and date of arrival. In the case of a tie, the earliest absentee bidder wins. In the event of a tie bid between an absentee and floor bidder, the item will go to the floor bidder.

Online Bidding

Online bids may be placed through third-party platforms like Bidsquare or AuctionZip.

To place a bid on one of these platforms, you must register to bid on their site and then allow time for Taos Auction Co. to accept your registration. We try to confirm bidder requests as quickly as possible, but it’s best to allow up to 24 hours prior to the start of the auction for approval.
